I get that question a lot because there are some friends of mine. And I don't know if telling a beginner to just pick a language you like and run with it is necessarily the best advice. So what would have been a better response from him? Or how would he answer that question now? He typically tells people Python. It's very beginner friendly language That's starting to get more popular with more conventional computer science departments.
