In the U.S., conspicuous displays of wealth as you get, say Donald Trump's gold toilet or whatever are a whole housewives episode. Or the crypto bros with their Lamborghinis or whatever. That is no one thinks that that is sophisticated or a high class thing to do. But I guess it doesn't matter to the people who are the Crypto bros and the Lamborghinis.
