The Epistemic Implications of Uniqueness in the Life Sciences

What is uniqueness in the life sciences and what sort of epistemic implications does it have? Right well this kind of loops back to this this question about novelties right which are these paradigmatic cases of uniqueness particularly in evolutionary biology. Me and my co-author Adrian Curry we try to construct a set of criteria for understanding when something can count as unique especially in the case of evolutionary phenomena but hopefully keeping open the applicability of these tools to the life sciences more generally.
