The Disadvantages of Fighting Democrats

A lot of base voters recognize that they have a problem in their own party as well. They want to know that someone is willing to take on that powerful cabal of people. But the really structural disadvantage that does hand us has to deal with is that Trump is like the best and worst of an incumbent president. And so just by virtue of taking on the quasi incumbent, it's viewed as disloyal by a many Republican voters.
