In 1886, Tesla worked at Peck and Brown, where he built electric motors. The company assisted him in patenting the AC motor. This led him to working with George Westinghouse in 1888,. He tried to use his AC motors to power streetcars in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With Westinghouse licensing Tesla's patents. But he never received any of this money and he actually left Edison's company after only six months.
