The Class Structure of Wine and Beer in Ancient Egypt
In ancient egypt, wine making technology seems to have been well integrated into the culture. In one thousand b c e, there's a list of five hundredand 13 vineyards owned by temples in the nile delta. And there are other writings from ancient egypt showing that beer was a common form of payment, especially for the lower classes. The wealthy and elite drank wine, the poorer drank beer, and the poorest drank water.
