The hostess walked up and saw people standing there with staves, completely stone. She learned that it was less a bold artistic choice and more a city-wide curse when shop to shop and house to house everyone from the eldest person to the youngest baby had been turned to stone. As she wound through labyrinthine corridors, she did find something else. A burning candle. Someone else was alive here.
