The implication is that if America weren't so great, it wouldn't be so lovable. The superpatriotic love of country seems predicated on the countries being stronger and superior to other countries. What about people from lesser lands? I mean, now, Luxembourg is number 122, you know. Just barely ahead of San Marino and its military might.
