One thing I've got my eye on is a follow-up of a big story from last summer which was the news that scientists have been able to develop these embryo-like structures. The EU is due this year to set out the world's first standards on regulating particular issues in AI.
Last year saw several major science breakthroughs – from the first time a nuclear fusion experiment produced more energy than it used, to Nasa smashing a spacecraft into an asteroid in a mission that demonstrated the possibility of redirecting any space rocks heading our way.
