The Bridges Between the Church and Outer Resources

When I became the pastor, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Berkeley, they had an already established late counseling program. And that was a really beautiful and wonderful thing. But then there was another layer that got added by another leader in our church who likewise just brought another depth to this. It gave people entree, depending on their needs, to a wider set of services in the life of the church in general. So when churches can find ways of building bridges inside the church to outer resources or vice versa, it really creates a much different safety net for people that are in circumstances of tremendous need.
