Do You Ever Read Something That Makes You Want to Quit Writing?
I had this extended period a couple of years ago where i couldn't, i just didn't enjoy reading. I read am patricia lockwood's priest daddy and my friend sarah perry's melmouth. And they're both so electric and wonderful,. The prose in both of them is so exciting and varied. It makes me feel more confident that i can write like i write - even though i know i'm never going to meet that standard. Part of what makes good art good is that it is personal and original.
