The Importance of Self Compassion in Relationships

The more we beat up on ourselves for our imperfections, the less we can do about it. People who were more self compassionate were rated by their partners as being much better relationship partners. And basely, that's because when we resource ourselves with self compassion and warmth and care, that actually gives us more resources to give to others. When we are lost in shame and self criticism, we have less emotional energy to give to other people.
