Two entangled particles, as far as quantum mechanics is concerned, they're a single thing. Einstein didn't believe that there's something missing from quantum mechanics because this notion of entanglement seemed so outlandish. The Nobel Prize for Physics was awarded to Anna Specht, John Klauser and Anton Zylinger. They pioneered the experiments that really show that this is a real phenomenon.
