Are We Giving Too Much IV Antibiotics?

When I was reviewing for this, actually what I was coming across a lot of was more, there were agencies advocating for earlier use of oral antibiotics and the bioavailability. And can you get away with giving even oral antibiotics, even while you're still in the hospital treating the patient rather than giving them IV from the start? So I just thought that was interesting. But I don't know. Is that something that you think about? I have to have this patient on IV antibiotics because they're in the hospital and I need to justify them being here because they still need to be here.
