Is St. John's Wort a Drug?

St. John's wort was used as an antidepressant and believed to have antiretroviral activity against the HIV virus. In a study, 16 normal volunteers took St. John's Wort for a week before taking another drug called denivir. The lab showed that not only did it rev up all of our livers but also caused toxicity in my body. It impacted this drug we were taking and it could impact the men who are HIV positive.
