The Circulation of Mexicans in the United States
The number of Mexican-born individuals living in the United States fell by a million from, you know, 11.7 to 10.7 million between 2011 and 2021. Mexicans accounted for the largest share of illegal migrants picked up at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2022. Remittances are a huge part still of the Mexican economy as the Mexican American community flourishes. It's about 60 billion flow, which reflects this extraordinarily important relationship that just doesn't have an adequate political form.
