The Role of Multiples in Valuation
When you're valuing a company, you need some sort of a metric on which you apply multiple. You kind of look at companies' financial statements and what's the most consistent metric that you can look at across all companies out there? The typical company, if I had to put a range on it is probably anywhere from $50 million up to $500 millionTypically we take our cues from the public markets for the most part because that's where most of the information lies.
