The focus was on looking specifically at DNA sensors because of that DNA damage. They do have adenoviruses, herpes viruses, papilloma and then a variety of single-stranded DNA viruses. There are far more RNA viruses than DNA viruses in bats. When we say they have them, that means we can detect them being infected with it when we're sampling them.
