Local Reimbursement for GPs Who Are Off Work Sick
The amount of money that practices can claim back under the GP contract if a GP partner or a salary GP is off work sick. The problem really is that these payments have remained broadly the same since they were first introduced in 2017, 2018. Most practices take out low come insurance to potentially make up the difference and they will almost certainly have insurance that covers the period after 26 weeks. But we've discovered that a lot of these insurance policies do provide reduced cover for those first 26 weeks. That's what can really catch out practices and individual GP partners.
