The author says creativity is an evolution of how we put together the things that exist, and address solutions for the world that we live. He believes people struggle with this idea because it's 'a fake standard' which will never be achieved. The greatest breaks through in modern history has been when smart phones were found - they are such an incredible tool but nothing was new.
