The Relationship Between America and Europe

America as a share of GDP GDP has consistently spent more than anyone in Europe for a long time. On the other hand Europe for the spending that it does do and it's up around 300 billion euros now gets precious little. America's is high and Europe's usually inefficient and that does indeed tilt the balance significantly in America's favor on key issues. The most significant is probably the way the Americans strong armed the Dutch into requiring that their world beating chip manufacturing equipment supplier ASML be part of the F 35 program.
