The Free Will Debate in Contemporary Philosophy Is Missing the Point
The motivation behind the specific decision, if it is good or bad and causal chain leading up to that is not the important part. What matters is whether or not the decision was made for the right kind of good. And so I think the whole free will debate the way it is conducted in contemporary philosophy turns our attention away from what is actually important: we become good pursuers of goods.
