I remember very sickly, they gave us all IQ tests around 10. And in those days, they would use those tests to select you to either go to a magnet school,. Then get a scholarship and get to Oxford, and then got a scholarship and got to Harvard. So this is the, you are proof of concept of the Maritocratic, post-war British system. This is what it was supposed to do: identify people of promise outside of the aristocracy, bring them forward and give them access to these institutions. That was the idea.
