The Only Winners in a War
I think what we now know, I think that the Iraq and Afghanistan were the biggest policy on goals probably in the past century. And yes, to your point, it is amazing to think that US policymakers are sitting around thinking, okay, we basically had defeats in Iraq and Afghanistan, but let's take on Russia and China at the same time. It does bug all the mind. The only winners in a war are the people who stay out of the war.
