And actually, some of my least favorite versions of both stories are the ones that are sort of rather than, rather, dryly respectful. I mean, Conan Doyle famously, less a fair with his great creation. He sent a cable to Doyle saying, do I have your permission to marry Sherlock Holmes? And he wrote back, you may marry him, murder him, do what you like. So, and with Dracula, having even done so many times, it was like, well, this is a really good pop classic.
