What if the Hicks Field Was Zero?

Are fields even real or they just sort of a calculation we do in our heads to try to make predictions for experiments? We don't know. The way the fields work mathematically is that you just sort of think of them as a number or in some cases a vector at every point in space. And that field can have energy, which means that that number could be moving. So fields can have like kinetic energy. If they wiggle like the value of the field is going up and down. They can also have potential energy based on the different kind of field that it is.
