The Earth Isn't Transparent, Is It?

It's incredible how far you can see out into space. In every direction, we can see out millions and millions a seve miles away. It would be pretty cool if the earth was like, made of glass, so you could see in every direction at the same time. But if somebody turned the earth into glass, then we would have no night and be pretty hard to sleep. So maybe that wasn't such a great idea.
