The Law of Attraction in Science Fiction

The Mistborn series, quote unquote, had three magic systems. The pool of characters in Schlock Mercenary is as big as it is because I would get stuck and I would want to get out of getting stuck by introducing a new character. It's an issue with working in something very long form. You run into this issue where my main character has been through so much. I can't really legitimately put them through anymore,. So I add new characters to put through things like this that balloons your story and introduces problems.
