The Profit Imperative in Capitalism

Alberta is a petro state. We over produce fossil fuels at a time when that is literally suicide for our species, right? At the same time, we have an underproduction of new antibiotics. All kinds of medical technologies that could be developed and provide cures to chronic problems are just simply not invested in by the medical industry because that is not profit rational.
