The Tension Between Tabatabahi and the Skeptics of Philosophy

Tabatabahi was obviously on the pro-philosophy side in this debate. He avoided teaching Sadra's views on the afterlife, evidently finding these problematic. More positively, he argued forcefully against the atheism and materialism of the Marxist philosophy that had just gained ascendancy in Soviet Union.
