It's been a century since Dewey advocated for moving away from teacher centered towards learner centered classrooms designed around students strengths and interests. It's also hard to believe that it's been a decade since the introduction of iPads and Chromebooks, which many believed would serve as the catalyst to fulfilling the central vision held by Dewey. This reflection turned into an article that I published last week on why it's time for an innovation gap analysis. The authors share the analogy of people to cars when talking about these gaps. They say knowledge is the engine and transmission.
