The NACC's Failure to Reform a Subtle Law and Establish a Whistle-Bar Protection Authority
Kiran: It's deeply frustrating. The government has acknowledged these laws are broken. They need to be fixed and they've committed to fixing them. But at the same time we're leaving these two men who just tried to do the right thing to their fate under these broken laws. That's really unjust and significantly undermines transparency and our democracy. This is a good step forward, but it's missing this critical ingredient. Until we have robust whistle-bar protections in Australia, integrity and transparency will be undermined. I'm Ruby Jones, this is 7am, see you tomorrow.
