The U.S.'s Navigating the Storm in a Bottle

The wounds of the past continue to haunt relations today, whether it's wartime for slavery, comfort women, textbooks. Having a functional relationship between Japan and South Korea is important. The level of tension in the bilateral relationship has not been constant throughout the post-work period. But I believe that post-war democratization in Japan first and later in South Korea is an important factor.
