How Did the Finances Affect You in Graduate School?
When she was in her MA program, I had to hustle because that was my only opportunity to try and do something to shore things up. My partner was a stay at home dad because of the way the finances worked for us. We couldn't afford childcare and for him to work. And we just kept it really private. Other people in our family were embarrassed after to say, well, we didn't know you were struggling so hard.
