The Problem With the Gray Wolf
The gray wolf was put on the endangered species act in 19 74, which meant that they would be protected even outside of park boundaries. The states surrounding yellowstone were adimantly opposed to any re introduction of wolves in any way. They have huge ranching, farming and hunting communities and a deep seated disdain for wolves. So these states are like, absolutely not. You know, we have gone decades without the presence of wolves."
