How My Travels Come Out in My Writing

Many of your books are centered around Japan. How does that come out in your writing? When I moved to New York I thought well maybe I'll learn Japanese. So I started taking Japanese language courses at the Japan Society. And my love of the country grew from there. It's been 10 years of writing. And I still include a lot of Japan in Japan in my books.
