The only reason the podcasting ecosystem remains interesting, healthy or vibrant is that it hasn't been conquered by algorithms. Quality content spreads by literal word of mouth just like nature intended. It took a completely new company in Substack to begin to save writing. If and when aggregators finally take over, podcasting will follow video, music and the written word into the algorithmic abyss.
