The Future of Chatbots

IBM famously put Watson to the test in some exhibition games of the game show Jeopardy against former champions of that game show human champions. The way Jeopardy works is players get several categories of trivia that they can choose from each category has different levels of questions which are designated by a dollar amount. In many ways this was an echo of IBM's deep blue going up against chess master Gary Kasparov in various games of chess. If the answer it generated failed to meet a certain confidence threshold, Watson would not buzz into try and answer.
