A star in Western art references hope. A child is a symbol of hope, right? There's so many things that a parent dreams of for that child and hopes for that child. The way that the figures are lit is is something that I'm very fond of and use a lot. It's called backlighting so it's very complicated to expose correctly because film is able to expose very bright areas and very dark areas.
