The Connection Between Natural Gas and Nitrogen Fertilizer
Natural gas is used to make fertilizer through the production of ammonia, that means that fertilizer prices have increased massively. Soi means some plants, like soi beans, don't require a lot of extra nitrogen. Now, because of the high price of nitrogen it is, the concern is simply that farmers will not be able to pay for it, and thus have lower crop yields.
