Is There a Right Answer?

The right conception of these has to take the form of a theory. You can't answer the question what is justice by looking in the dictionary, he says. If we think that something that's unjust should be stopped, we need a definition of justice which tells us why it should be stopped. And if we think liberty is a value worth pursuing, we need an account of what liberty is that justifies government protecting it.
