The normans are a people who were created, i in a sort of a process like nuclear fusion between the franks and the vikings. By the end of the ninth century, there's constant viking raiding into the frankish world. And then over a few generations, by the time we get to the middle of the eleventh century, you have a very unique group of people that produce some quite unique products.
