The Law of Non-Contradiction

Truth is not in words or terms, but in sentences which say something about those terms. A candle cannot be both lit and not lit at the same time because that would be a what? Some prefer to call it the law of non-contradiction. The word broccoli has meaning, but by itself it is neither true nor false. We each have our own opinion about that proposition, don't we?
