TMA in Asia? What's the Difference?
At VCU, the transplant nephrology actually took initiative on the TMA. At all of the institutions where I was trained at University of Colorado, Denver Health and the VA, we do all the plasma for recess. There is no hematology ever involved in a transplanted patient population. Hematology gets involved whenever there's a pregnant patient or they worry about TTP. But when it comes to transplant, hematology is never involved.
