Are the Bishops Talking With Orthodox Authority?
JD: I think there are sort of thematic things that could be taken away from this. That if the perception amongst even their own clergy is that they are distant, imperious, distracted, technocratic, whatever, then the tone with which they conduct their public conversations and public discourse should be addressed. JD: There's a sense among bishops that when I release a statement or a given interview, there's a certain way that conveys a savvy authority.
