Most of the net working chapters about waiting on what the other machines are doing, or being able to understand who's waiting wen. So specifically, remote procedure calle could be implemented by different net working technology. You have distributed file system across many machines. And so giving all the messages some kind of identifying number, which keeps changing is an underpenning that's absolutely necessary if you want to do any kind of performance analysis.
