The 11th Campaign on Luzon
One of the more interesting exploits of the 11th campaign while they were on Luzon was their liberation of the Las Banos prison camp. The Japanese had put them in a number of prison camps some of which were in Manila proper. Magarthur and his staff were worried that as the Japanese were being pushed across the island that rather than evacuate these prisoners or just simply release them that they would execute the prisoners. And so it was you know stunningly successful. None of the prisoners were killed in the crossfire. A couple of them were wounded but nothing serious.
