Is There a Pattern in the World?

The opposite of the pattern is chaos. If there were no patterns, there would be no laws. There's no such thing as the second law of thermodynamics because tomorrow it could be that entropy always decreases. So how common are the patches in a world? I think we have a very natural feel for that inherent really in the way we interact with the world.
