Charles the third and his council of the indies could think of no better way to grow their tax base than to stimulate the whole spanish imperial economy. In 17 63, american ports were finally allowed to deal in just single ship trade,. Then in 17 65, the first of a network of economic societies of friends of the country was founded to promote modern economic thinking.
