The Prom Culture of the 2000s

I think what's interesting when I was thinking about prom and how it's been portrayed in the media I feel like we kind of switch back and forth by decade. The 70s were very Carrie-esque, 80s consumerist Cinderella story type prom narrative; 90s more violently misunderstood youth to 2000s pop cultural positivity this had its own version of Cinderella stories. And then 2010s where you have a grand romance and great evening is your rite of passage to maturity but also some sort of object humiliation narratives. So maybe we only want to talk about 2000s and 2010s so. Yeah I forget what time I mean yeah prom is happening right now right it's prom season!
